Of Another Fashion

Of Another Fashion is a blog/album of family and found photos dating from the late 1800s to the 1970s and features women of color. These pictures are so fun to look through and the women in their wardrobes (everything from short-shorts to wedding dresses) are beautiful.

P.S. Thanks, Paul!

Vintage TWA Ads

How cool are these vintage TWA posters from the 1950s and 60s?
They're so simple but so much more effective than any travel ad I've seen lately.
I want to go to there.

P.S. MoMA added the above New York poster to its permanent collection in 1957.
The artist who designed them was David Klein.

Room Love

Don't you want to spend your Saturday right there reading a book and having iced tea?

Louise Nevelson

Louise Nevelson (1899-1988) is one of my favorite artists. Her massive found-object sculptures have always been overwhelmingly haunting to me and seemed to be full of secrets. She tended to cover her sculptures in one color, generally black, white or gold to make each object less noticeable. Nevelson's work has been collected all over the country so chances are good that there's a Nevelson sculpture in a museum near you right now.

Also, can we talk about the way this amazing lady dressed? Mink eyelashes, man's hat and giant fur coat. What a badass.
